So sorry to hear about Mrs. Amy. My sincere condolensces and prayers to and for the entire family. She was a nice lady and always treated me like part of the family when we were kids growing up. She would always invite me to stay for dinner which were always delicious. It was an honor to have known her.Rest in Peace.
Fond memories of spending Friday nights with Melissa, Bob, Johnnie, Carol Ann and Amy. I hope there are plenty of snacks for her in heaven. Every outfit matched shoes and purse. Hair was always beautiful. Fly high with the angels, Amy!
To the Longfellow family,
Fig and I are so sorry for your loss. It’s awfully hard to lose your mother. Fig felt like she was a mother to him in his younger days, he and Freddie were always together and loved the whole family.
Our love, prayers and condolences are with you. Fig and Gloria Newton
I was sorry to learn of the passing of one of the last “Beach Treasures”, as Mrs. Longfellow was. Growing up the way we did in the Beach in the ’50s and ’60s offered the chance to form lifetime bonds and none were stronger than the ones formed by those of us who called the Beach home! We turned out for the better due to those who raised us, our parents. The Longfellow family is an example of that goodness.
All of you should take comfort in knowing how special your Mom was, not just to you “kids”, but to those of us who knew her as well.
We are just learning of Amy’s passing. It is hard to put into words the loss you feel. Louie grew up around the corner, and was probably in and out of your house as much as his own. Good memories he will treasure. Let yours and the love you have for your Mother and each other comfort you during this difficult time. God Bless you all.
I am deeply saddened to learn of her passing. I met her at the nursing home when I had to place my mom. I always stopped and talked with her each time I came to visit my mother. Rest in eternal peace Ms. Slaughter. You were such a delight to speak too. Prayers and condolences to her family and friends.
