Albert Ward “Bucky” Brown
January 18, 1947- November 11, 2022

Albert Ward “Bucky” Brown, also affectionately known as “Trashcan”, passed away November 11, 2022, at the age of 75, at home with family by his side. He was born January 18, 1947, in Washington, DC to Andrew Jackson Sr. and Mildred Iona (Ingram) Brown. Bucky grew up in Prince George’s County and graduated from Suitland High School where he was an All-American football, baseball, and lacrosse player. His athletic ability earned him a try out for the Washington Redskins. Bucky was employed as a physical education and special education teacher at Capital Christian School before becoming a Deputy Sheriff for the Prince George’s County Sheriff’s Department. Later in life Bucky worked as a commercial crabber and carpenter for various construction companies. Bucky was a longtime member and former president of the Tribes Motorcycle Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, football, and was a fan of the Cleveland Browns.
Bucky is survived by his son Joshua Brown of North Beach, sister Annemarie Thompson and her husband David of Owings, brother Jack Brown and his wife Barbara of Dunkirk, longtime partner Maxine Gott of North Beach, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Robin “Robo” Brown.

I never did meet or know Bucky, but I knew Maxine, his son, Joshua, and Joshua‘s partner, all wonderful people. I never knew all these things about Bucky, but what I’m reading and hearing about him makes me wish I had known him. I have heard so many good things and the people who surrounded him are wonderful too.
My heart grew heavy immediately upon hearing this news! I first met Buck when working at the courthouse in Upper Marlboro at the young age of 17 when he was in our Sheriff’s Dept. and was dating Jane Soper (my boss at that time).
I remember how handsome he was in his sheriffs uniform and those beautiful “blue eyes”….
When he found out my brother was Marvin Peele, who had quite the history with Pr. Geo. County Sheriffs Dept., I think Buck felt the need to look out for me. I can still see him with a big grin on his face when passing in the court hallways saying………Hiiiiiii Vic!
RIP Buck, until we meet again!
Love Vicki and Michael Hudson
So very sad to learn that Bucky has passed. I grew up down the street from him and his brother Jackie. We rode the same school bus and I last saw him when he was Deputy at the Upper Marlboro Courthouse and I was getting my driver’s license. We were also in the same 5th/6th grade combination class under Mrs. Kendall at Woodley Knoll Elementary School. He first married my fellow classmate, Ann Godfrey but they later divorced. I have added him to the site I sponsor on Facebook for the deceased classmates of Suitland High School so he will always be remembered. Condolences to Bucky’s son and brother Jackie and family members, friends and former classmates. Sue (Stine) McConkey Mason
