COVID-19 Updates
In response to the evolving COVID-19 emergency, we ask the community that we serve be advised of the following policies and procedures being implemented by Rausch Funeral Home, P.A. at all of our three locations:
Preneed arrangements will be delayed to a later date, and meetings for cemetery monuments and other memorial products will not be conducted at our facilities at this time. Our staff will be available to assist with these and other matters via telephone or email. We appreciate your patience and understanding in this difficult time.
Please be informed that funeral directors and our staff have been deemed “Critical Infrastructure Workers” by the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, placing us on equal status with other first responders in the effort to control and mitigate the spread of the Covid-19 virus. In an effort to protect our staff and safely operate our facilities, with the exception of interments at Arlington National Cemetery, or any of the Maryland Veterans Cemeteries, Rausch Funeral Home will not hold and shelter casketed remains for long periods of time for burial at a later date. Burials should be scheduled in a manner consistent with practices that were commonplace prior to the recent emergency. Without this policy, in light of the growing spread of the Corona virus, we envision the potential of our facilities being overwhelmed in a very short time. We believe this is a common sense approach to a critical situation, and appreciate your understanding in the implementation of these directives.
