Mary Alissa Sylvester (nee Magez), 47, of Lusby, MD and formerly of Ellicott City, MD, passed away on August 18, 2018 at the University of Maryland Medical Center.

Born November 2, 1970 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of Mary H. Bate. Mary graduated from Howard High School in 1988 and moved to Calvert County from Howard County, MD in 1999. She was an Executive Assistant at Patuxent River Naval Air Station (PMA 290) for eighteen years. Mary enjoyed attending social events with friends and family, and she loved helping people.

Mary is survived by her husband, Brian Sylvester whom she married on December 11, 2009 in Prince Frederick, MD; her mother, Mary H. Bate of Lusby, MD; her children, Pvt. Tyler M. Greger, U.S. Army, from Fort Riley, KS and Brady P. Martin of Lusby, MD; two grandchildren; and siblings, Charles W. Magez, Jr. of Arnold, MD and Julia E. Magez of Moseley, VA.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, August 23, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Rausch Funeral Home, 20 American Lane, Lusby, MD 20657. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 24, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Rausch Funeral Home, Lusby, MD. Interment will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens, Marriottsville, MD at 2:30 p.m.
