Edward “Eddie” R. Smith, Sr., 69, of Prince Frederick, MD passed away on August 4, 2014 in Prince Frederick, MD.
Edward was also known as, Eddie,Ed and Pop.He was born in Prince Frederick,MD on March 10th 1945, to Frank O. Smith and Virgie Smith.
Ed lived his life in Prince Frederick,MD.He attended and graduated from Calvert High School.He later married Sylvia F. Bown and they had two children, Edward R. Smith Jr.(Deceased) and Kimberly B. Smith.
Edward and Sylvia divorced and he later married Barbara Jean Wachter on April 28,1984.Edward was employed and retired from the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office.For enjoyment Ed liked Trap Shooting,Bay Fishing, and baking. He really enjoyed preparing baked goods at christmas and sharing them with the Sheriff’s Office,Hospital, and Control Center.Ed leaves behind his wife Barbara Smith, his daughter,Kim and her husband C.L. Girard,Daughter-in-law Betty Smith,grandchildren Crystal,Jennifer,Ryan,Morgan,Nick,Shelby,Skylar, and great grandchildren Haileigh and Kaynan.Ed’s passing came after a long battle with heart disease,diabetes, and Kidney failure.He will be missed greatly.
