Robert P. Karis-O'Dell

Robert Paul Karis-O’Dell passed away on October 25, 2026, at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, at the age of 21. He was born on July 12, 2005, at Calvert Hospital in Prince Frederick, Maryland.

Robert is survived by his parents, Michael Karis and Crystal O’Dell; his sister, Danica O’Dell; and his brother, Wyatt Dellinger. He is also survived by his grandparents and great-grandmothers, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

From birth, Robert faced significant physical and developmental health challenges. He was unable to walk, speak, or communicate with others. For more than 15 years, he attended school and spent time with his “second family” at Second Family in Bowie, Maryland. In June 2026, he graduated alongside his peers from C. Elizabeth Rieg Regional School in Bowie, Maryland.

Robert also attended Cornerstone Church with his caregivers from Second Family and was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior. The family offers heartfelt thanks to the caregivers and staff at Second Family, who loved Robert as their own and cared for him with patience, kindness, and devotion. Your compassion was a gift to Robert and to all who love him.

The family finds peace in knowing that Robert now has a new body in Christ. They take comfort in believing that he is walking, talking, and able to do all he could not do during his earthly life. They look forward to seeing Robert again in glory with their Savior, Jesus Christ, the Lord of Life.
