Patricia Mae Kangelos

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Patricia Mae Kangelos, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Pat was born in Seattle, Washington, to Wayne and Mavis Gutridge and was adopted at age three by Robert and Grace Crown, whom she loved deeply. She survived polio as a child, a testament to her resilience and love of life. Raised in part by her Grandma Larsen, she developed the creative talents that shaped her life as a seamstress, gifted painter, and graphic artist.

She later became a small business owner, running several locations of Chesapeake Cottage, where she featured her artwork among other local artists and crafts. She loved teaching classes in painting, sewing, and crafts. Within the family she was known as the queen of the kitchen, with an unmatched talent for entertaining, cooking, and baking that her children and grandchildren continued to seek out even in her later years.

She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Grace Crown, her brothers Dennis McLain and Landon Crown, her husband Ernest “Ernie” Kangelos, and her son-in-law David Robinson. She is survived by her children Wallace (Bonnie) Strong, Corrine (Richard) Dennis, Melinda (Ken) Strong-Alexander, Jenna (David) Robinson, and Angela (Justin) Kangelos, as well as nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Pat will be remembered for her unconditional love, her resilience, and her gift for finding beauty in everyone and everything.
