Patricia Ann Shenton

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we share with family, friends, and our community that Pat Shenton passed away on September 21, 2026. She was 83 years old.

Pat was born on January 15, 1943 and raised in Weems Creek, Annapolis, MD. She was raised by her single mother Thelma Taylor and had two brothers and four sisters.

In her early teen years, she was a baton twirler in the majorettes for the West Annapolis Fire Department. She graduated from Annapolis High School in 1961.  Pat married John “Joe” Shenton on August 2, 1964, and moved to Deale for the remainder of her life. Pat and Joe had two children, Vicky and Joe Jr. When her children were in Deale Elementary School, she was very active in the PTA and took great pride in organizing fund raisers for the school including The Penny Sale, Halloween parties, and multiple other events including everyone’s favorite Friday Night Roller Skating.

Pat worked for Deale Florist and Gifts Shop from the time the shop opened in the 1980’s until it closed in the 20 teens. Everyone knew if you needed flowers in South County, you would go see Miss Pat.

Pat was an avid sprots fan, especially the Washington Redskins and Baltimore Orioles. She loved spending time with her family, whether it was organizing family BINGO night, cookouts, holiday meals, or just sitting around talking and laughing. Family always came first.

Pat is survived b her husband of 62 years John “Joe” Shenton, Sr., children Vicky Lanham and her husband Gary and John “Joe” Shenton, Jr. and his wife Shannon, and grandchildren Michael Lanham, Danielle Lanham, John “Joe” Shenton III, and William Shenton.

Pat will live on in all of her family and her memory will never fade.
