With heavy hearts, we share the loss of Richard D. Rowland, 80, of Lakewood Ranch, FL, who passed away on September 6, 2026. Prior to moving to Florida full-time, he was a resident of Galesville MD for over 30 years. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran as well as an Annapolis City firefighter from 1972-1981. After his time in the fire department, he became an antique clocksmith for several years while running his antique shop in Galesville. His presence touched the lives of many.
Rick’s greatest joy was his family. He found endless happiness in creating memories with his wife, children, and grandchildren, always showing love, strength, and a deep devotion to those, he loved. His legacy is one of warmth, humor, and love that will be treasured by all who knew him.
Rick was born and raised in Annapolis. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, A. Martin & Ivyl Virginia Rowland, and his brothers, Donald & Stanley.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Patricia Meade Rowland, their daughters Heather Rowland-Lamb (Bobby Lamb), Jennifer Rowland (Eddie Cousin), and Elizabeth Johnson (Jim Johnson), grandchildren Justin, Emily, Abigail, Levi, and Charlie, his brother Wayne, and many cousins and very close friends.
Rick’s spirit, kindness, and love will live on in all of us. We invite you to join us in celebrating his life and honoring his memory at the Galesville Memorial Hall, 952 Main St., Galesville MD 20765, from 1:00-4:00 on November 22, 2026.

So sorry to hear about Rick’s passing and his health problems over the last several years. Reaching 80 is a great milestone. I will always remember him taking me under his wing as rookie on the medic unit. He showed me some very valuable lessons. We had a very good friendship watching football (Redskins) games at Tommy & Dorothy’s home. Rick was a great antique guy and always dealing. He will be missed by family and friends. Rest in peace!
