Janet "Jean" Duncan McGregor Clark

Janet “Jean” Duncan McGregor Clark was born April 8, 1942 to William and Christina McGregor in Glasgow, Scotland. She passed on to eternal life on August 4, 2026.

Jean had a great time growing up in the city with her parents, two sisters and a lot of friends. She always said it was the best of times right after the war. She had a lot of freedom to explore and spread her wings. However, she had a dream to come to America at a young age. After completing her education, she emigrated to the USA from her beloved Scotland at age 19 and worked for the Disabled American Veterans Organization for several years until she stayed home to raise her family.

Jean was an adventuresome person who loved a new challenge or adventure. The glass was always half full for her. She loved traveling to places she had never been, whether it was a state or country. Spending time with her friends or making new friends was always special. Jean was a hugger and so enjoyed being with people. However, family was everything to Jean. She was a wonderful, compassionate, caring, strong-willed, and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for her family which provided her great joy and satisfaction watching her children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughters grow and mature.

Jean loved sports and so enjoyed playing basketball as a child and tennis and bowling as an adult. Whether she won or lost was not as important as having a good time and enjoying the moment. If prizes were given for enthusiasm and joy, Jean would win hands down.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents and her sons William and Danny. She is survived by her beloved husband Steve; sisters Elizabeth (Darrell) and Doris (Bob); sons Michael (Tammy), Wayne (Nicole), Fred (Kimberly); grandchildren Megan (Sarah), Allison (Taylor), Abigail (Brian), Alex (Cali), and Zoey; great-granddaughters Harper, Josephine, Ava, Charlotte, Ellie and Emilia; nephews Brian and Drew (Mary); and nieces Tina (Jeromy), Julie, Susan (Dean), and Sara.

Jean was a member of the Mt. Harmony/Lower Marlboro United Methodist Church. Jean and Steve have been the custodians of the church cemetery in Lower Marlboro for several years. Jean will be inurned in the Lower Marlboro Church Cemetery.
