Terry Lee Miller(née Rawlings), 68, of Saint Leonard, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.
Terry was born on December 27, 1957, in Prince Frederick. She was preceded in death by her parents, Everard Lee Rawlings and Madolyn Veronica (Hill) Rawlings, and her brother, Herman Bradley Rawlings, as well as her beloved husband of many years, William “Bill” Miller.
A devoted mother and cherished sister, Terry is survived by her son, Dale Elliott, and his wife, Sheana, as well as her sister, Vicky Rawlings, and Vicky’s children, Megan Cooper and her husband Andrew, and Cody Horsmon and his wife Paige. She was also survived by Buster, her loving K9 companion.
Terry spent her life with grace and generosity, leaving a lasting mark on all who knew her. Shortly after graduating high school, she served as a division secretary for the Boating Safety Division of the United States Coast Guard, a role that reflected her dedication to service and attention to detail. She then began her career at Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative, starting as a cashier. It was here that Terry found her second family, bonding deeply with colleagues who became lifelong friends. Over her 36 years with the cooperative, she rose to become a dedicated staking engineer, a position that spoke to her competence, reliability, and the trust her colleagues placed in her. Through her work with the IBEW, she met her late husband, William “Bill” Miller, a meeting that would shape the rest of her life and fill it with love and partnership.
Terry had a real love for homekeeping in all its forms. She tended her flowers with care and kept her home looking like something out of Southern Living Magazine, always welcoming and beautifully appointed. Most especially, she poured her heart into preparing Thanksgiving and Easter dinners, occasions that brought family together around her table and created memories that would last a lifetime. She cherished snowy winters and rainy days, enjoyed a cold beer with crabs, and had an abiding affection for Calvert County, what she called God’s Country. Her warmth, quiet strength, and unwavering love for her family defined her legacy. Whether through a kind word, a listening ear, or simply her presence, she made the world a little brighter.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that remembrances be made to SMECO’s Members Helping Members charity in Terry’s name.
