Corrine Ann Tavenner, 84, of Prince Frederick passed away July 13, 2026. She was born November 9, 1941, in Peckville, PA to Elmer and Thelma Harris. Corrine grew up in Peckville, PA, a suburb of Scranton, PA. She moved to Maryland when she was 17 years old to work in Washington, DC at the Small Business Administration and attend business school. She married George Raymond Tavenner on August 24, 1963, and they lived in Beltsville where they raised their family until retiring and moving to Milton, DE in 2005. They returned to Maryland in 2020, moving to Prince Frederick to be closer to family.

Corrine worked as an administrative assistant for the Department of Agriculture and later worked for the University of Maryland in the Institute of Physical Science and Technology, retiring after 20 years of service. Corrine was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Beltsville where she was active in the choir, Sunday School, and Vacation Bible School. She was a current member of Emmanuel Church where she developed a visitation program which provided emotional and spiritual support to the residents in the local nursing home. She was also active in the Senior Adult Ministry Group. Corrine was devoted to her church and family and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Corrine was preceded in death by her husband George Raymond Tavenner, brothers Elmer and Delbert Harris, and her sister-in-law Sue Harris. She is survived by her children Raymond Tavenner and his wife Jammie of Westminster, Sharon Strand and her husband David of St. Leonard, and Karen O’Connor and her husband Dennis of Port Republic, grandchildren Dave, Jacob, Jessica, Jenna, Austin, Jocelynn, and Lucas, and great-granddaughter Sofia.
