Everett Irvan Wallace Moreland, 87, of Harwood, Maryland, passed away February 11, 2026, at his home after a courageous health battle. He was born on January 31, 1939 in Lothian, Maryland, to Minnie (Rodgers) Moreland and Benjamin Moreland. Everett graduated from Southern High School in the class of 1957, then joined the Army National Guard and later transferred into the Army Reserves after completing active duty and continued to work for both the Reserves and the Department of Defense until his retirement. He loved being outdoors; watching sports games, fishing, hunting, and working outside in his yard. Everett was a skilled craftsman and could build anything with his hands. He was a long time member of Calvert Grace Community Church, and a faithful Christian. Above all else, he treasured the time he spent with his family. He will be missed dearly and will forever be in our memories.

Everett is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara N. Moreland; son Terry Haffelfinger (Pam), and daughter Trina Haffelfinger (Sonny); grandchildren Ashley Ricker (Daniel), T.J. Haffelfinger (Cari), Austin Haffelfinger, and Tara Haffelfinger; Great-Grandchildren Emma, Hallie, Brooks, Maeley, and Laken, and his sister Betty Rae Gott. Everett was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Minnie Moreland, and siblings David Moreland, Benjamin Moreland, and June Gott.

February 16 – Obituary: Everett Irvan Wallace Moreland

So sorry to hear of your loss.   Ebby was always a gentle person and had a great personality. I remember so well he and my uncle Greeley hunting with the dogs and the stories they would tell.  May God look over the family and know that he is with the Lord and at peace.
