Richard Francis Kershaw

  • Friday, December 3, 1965 - Monday, January 19, 2026

Richard Francis Kershaw, 60, of Lusby, Maryland, passed away on January 19, 2026, at Calvert Health Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Rich was born on December 3, 1965, in Silver Spring, Maryland, to Mary Adele and Richard F. Kollmann. He grew up in Huntingtown, Maryland, and graduated from Northern High School in Owings, Maryland.

Rich began his working life with Coca-Cola as a delivery driver. He later pursued a career as a crane operator, working for Facchina Construction before retiring from Flippo Construction. He also proudly served his community as a volunteer firefighter with the Dunkirk Volunteer Fire Department, Hillside (Station 6) Volunteer Fire Department, where he was a live-in member, and with Largo (Station 46) Volunteer Fire Department.

Rich was fun-loving and big-hearted, always ready for a good time and always willing to help anyone in need. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, decorating with Christmas lights during the holidays, and most of all, spending time with his six grandchildren.

He was a loving partner to Melanie Kinnamon Miller; a devoted father to his son, Austin; and a cherished stepfather to Chris Miller (Gillian), Sean Miller, and Nathan Miller. He is survived by his sisters Diane M. Kershaw of Owings, Maryland; Tara M. Harris (Mark) of Macclenny, Florida; Erica J. Kollmann of Jacksonville, Florida; and his brother Matthew Kershaw (Melissa) of Huntingtown, Maryland. He also leaves behind five nieces, four nephews, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Rich was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Adele, and his fathers, Richard Kollmann and Richard Kershaw.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date. Details will be shared on Facebook once arrangements are finalized.
