Leroy Karl Burkman, 75, of Port Republic, Maryland, passed away on November 15, 2025. Leroy was preceded in death by his parents Mildred and Pete, brother Billy, and sons Frankie and Ethan. He is survived by his wife Melodie, his children, Bo, Leann, Brandie and Makayla, his granddaughter April, and his siblings, Cookie, Margie, and Jimmy, along with many extended family and friends who cherished him.

Playful, stubborn, capable, and endlessly creative, Leroy brought a unique light wherever he went. A jack- of -all trades, he spent his younger years riding his motorcycle, driving semi trucks, and mastering every skill he put his mind to. He was an exceptionally talented carpenter and known for his creative outlets like woodworking, model cars, and homemade birdhouses. He had a soft spot for animals, especially his most recent companion, his grouchy cat Toulouse, who adored Leroy and only Leroy.

Leroy was a long time member of Church by the Chesapeake on Broomes Island Road, where he found joy in attending Sunday service.

More than anything, Leroy will be remembered for his humor, and his ability to make light of even the toughest situations.  His pranks, home cooked meals, and never ending projects will be memories cherished by his closest loved ones.
