Richard Thomas Hagan
May 6, 1944 – April 2, 2025
Richard Thomas Hagan, 80, of Lusby, MD passed away on April 2, 2025 at his residence.
Born May 6, 1944 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Austin Daniel Hagan and Louise (Jarboe) Hagan.
Richard graduated from Anacostia High School in 1963. He was a warehouse manager for Ferguson Enterprise for over twenty-five years, retiring in May 2009.
Richard was a kind man who lived a simple life, and (if asked), he’d do anything for you. His hobbies were equally simple: reading, fishing, crabbing, watching old and reality TV shows, and hanging out at the beach. He loved seeing his grandchildren and, most recently, his great-grandchildren. Often, when the weather was nice, he could be found enjoying evening conversations with his neighbors.
Richard is survived by his children, Tim (Laurie) of Lusby, MD, David (Christine) of Wilmington, NC and Jeff (Michelle) of Chesapeake Beach, MD; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Barbara and Elizabeth.
Family will receive friends on Friday, April 11, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service conducted by Deacon Andy Geisz following at 3:00 p.m. at Rausch Funeral Home, 20 American Lane, Lusby, MD.

So sorry to hear of Richard’s passing. I had the honor of knowing Richard since 1968. He was a awsome boss, coworker , and best of all friend. He was known in the furniture business as a true (IRON MAN).

I had the privilege of knowing Richard not only as a neighbor but also a friend, I already miss seeing him across the street, exchanging a friendly wave and a smile. He was such a kind and gentle soul, and was a great addition to our neighborhood. He will be greatly missed. I’m grateful that he has now at peace and dancing with the angels.

My sincere condolences to all of Richard’s family and friends
It was so nice having Richard for my neighbor. He has the kindest heart and little Quin was always seen outside with him! Although I was only a neighbor for a bit over a year, I would go visit with him out in the front yard. When I most recently went to visit him at his rehab center, I took him a couple donuts from Dunkin’ Donuts; he was sure happy about that!
It just seems sad to not see him across the street!
