William Norris “Bill” Wooldridge, Jr.
May 21, 1937 – January 11, 2025
Bill passed away peacefully on Saturday morning at Country Home Assisted Living in Hardwood, MD.
Born in Washington, D.C. to William and Frances Wooldridge, his parents had a summer home in Fairhaven that Bill, his parents, and siblings used to visit in the summer. From 1956 to 1958 Bill was in the U.S. Marine Corps where he was a helicopter and aircraft mechanic. He was so proud to be a Marine!
Bill’s hobbies were jogging and swimming. He had a love for boat racing and fast, old cards. He raced many races—in his boat that he built himself—in the Southern area of Maryland. He had his own garage door business for years, which he really enjoyed doing.
Bill was preceded in death by his brother Robert ‘Bobby” Wooldridge, and his parents William and Frances Wooldridge. He is survived by his children: Michael Wooldridge, Mark Wooldridge, Julie Thames (Mike); his grandchildren: Brian Thames, David Thames, and Amy Ducie; his sisters Mary, Christine, and Elizabeth, as well as multiple nieces and nephews, and his friends Mary, Mike, and Jerry, among many other special close friends!
Bill loved all his caregivers at Country Home. They took excellent care of him at all times. A special thanks to Sheryl, and Hospice of the Chesapeake.
