Frank Theodore Parish, Sr.

Frank Theodore Parish, Sr. passed away peacefully at home at age 95 on September 19, 2024 after suffering for some time from dementia. He lived with his wife of 18 years in Lusby, Maryland. He was born on November 14, 1928 in Kansas City, Missouri. His mother, Theodore Fisher Parish and father Frank Preston Parish settled in their later years in a home called Thorndale, now listed as a State Historic Site in Taneytown, Maryland, where Frank lived as a teenager. He attended Mercersberg Academy and The College of Western Maryland, earning a BA degree. He served in the United State Air Force from June 1950 through August 1953, as a pilot. He was in the Korean War and earned the Distinguished Flying Cross.
Frank remained interested in flying and for a number of years owned his own airplane which he flew for business and pleasure. Later he transferred his interest to sailing. While working in Florida, he built his own house, designed and built a Pilot Cutter cruising sailboat, eventually selling the design. Back in Maryland he bought his own sailboat, a Bristol 32, sailing on the Chesapeake with his wife.
Frank is survived by his wife, Susan Sheridan Parish, his son, Frank Theodore Parish, Jr. of Marriottsville, and daughters, Margaret Ann Parish Pyron and Drusilla Preston Parish Vaughan, both of Branson, Missouri. He has seven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

What a beautiful tribute to an obviously wonderful man He led a very interesting life and I personally know his beautiful daughters. My condolences to the family.
