Connie Marie Simmons, 74, of Churchton, MD, passed away on July 13, 2024 surrounded by her family at her home. She was born on June 26, 1950, in Annapolis, MD, to Ruth Mae (Howard) and Ernest Theodore Simmons, Jr., who raised Connie alongside her four siblings on their family farm in Churchton. She attended Southern High School and grew up to become a loving homemaker and mother to her six children. She later worked as assistant front-end manager at Christopher’s Fine Foods. Connie was a talented artist who loved painting, drawing, quilting, restoring furniture, and working with ceramics. During the Holiday’s Connie enjoyed baking her mother Ruth’s recipe for applesauce cakes to share with friends and family. She also enjoyed deer hunting and searching for artifacts such as arrowheads and pottery on the farm.

Connie is survived by her children, Mary Elizabeth Rupp Pearson of St. Mary’s, Fred Tilghman Rupp and wife Kathie of Lothian, Anne Marie Rupp of Pasadena, Michelle Denise Maringo of Chesapeake Beach, Kimberly Diane Little and fiancé Joe Terry of Deale, and Ruthie Christanna Marsters and husband Matt of Owings; her siblings, William Theodore “Ted” Simmons and wife Pat, Robert “Bobby” H. Simmons, Sr. and wife Gini, all of Churchton, and James “Jimmy” R. Simmons and wife Linda of Grasonville; eleven Grandchildren, and several Great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Ruth Simmons, and her brother, Martin Linn Simmons, Sr.
