Jordan Sandvik
February 6, 1986 – May 25, 2024
Steven “Jordan” Sandvik son, father, husband, friend, definition of a DAMN GOOD MAN. The man who would take the shirt off his back for a stranger. The man who would give money to every person that he passed on the corners because “you never know what they are going through”. A husband, who idealized the woman he married. He gave her the world and his entire heart. He was so proud of her and loved her to the depths of his soul. As a father, it just doesn’t get much better than him. He worked his ass off day in and out to provide for his family. He was their protector. He made sure his family never needed or even wanted for anything. The dancing, cheerleading, school promotions, awards ceremonies, lacrosse practices, or just making dinners, he was always there. He was a damn good father. A momma’s boy by definition. The love he has for that woman is truly unmatched. He may have raised some hell for her throughout his life but he wanted her included in every aspect of it. He was a good son, spoiled and could argue almost as good as she could. A hard worker, Jordan Sandvik, Director of International Project Management, he was proud of what he did and he was proud of how he got there. He was pretty much the BEST in the industry. He was proud that he could show his kids that working hard does get you somewhere. A friend to anyone and everyone. He could “shoot the shit” with a stranger on any given day. He would drop anything to help one of his friends, much like his kids, he would always be there when it counted.
He is survived by his wife Shannon Sandvik and his children Ava, Rylan, Ford, Beckett and Emmry. Also by his mom and step dad Kathrine and Richard Matzel, his dad and step mother Steve and Dawn Sandvik, both of his Aunts, Tina Sandvik and his “Sissy” Karen Lewis, his brothers Nicolas and Nathan Sandvik and his sister Rachel Matzel. He is preceded in death by his daughter Kinsley Reese Sandvik.
He was “Jordan” and everyone that knew him, knows exactly what that means. A diehard Steelers Fan, “Big Ben #7”, Black and Yellow, lived for football Sunday, his Jim Beam Peaches and Cigs. He was a car fanatic, need for speed and pretty much stirring shit up anywhere and everywhere he went. The world was more fun and better with him in it. He will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, donation in Jordan’s name can be made to Children’s Hospital or Maryland Elite Soccer Club. These are places that are close to his heart and the ones he always donated to every chance he got.
A celebration of life will be held at Boathouse at 5:00 PM.

Jordan recently reached out to me via messenger. We had a great time discussing his time with me in class and youth basketball. It was so obvious how he developed into such a fine husband and father. I know he will be greatly missed by his loved ones. Rest well Jordan, you will always be remembered.
Jordan will be missed by so many. I grew up with that fool and he was always the most amazing and hilarious guy. He would make you laugh at any given moment!
It’s so amazing how the circle of life works… we all grew up together from elementary on – lots of fun childhood memories! We have so many pictures to prove it! Then life happens and you become distant for a while. Then we all “grow up” and you see each other blossom into amazing adults that go in all different directions. The direction I loved the most about Jordan was his love for his wife and children!! That man was always there! The posts he made about his family could bring tears to my eyes. That is what life is about…..we will miss you so much, Jordan. May your loved ones find peace in knowing that you and your baby girl are up there together again. This will be a long road but I hope the family knows that there is alot of us praying and rooting for you all to find comfort in each other and to keep his memory alive (we all will for sure)!!! Big hugs to Shannon and those precious kiddos!
We worked closely with Jordan. It was though he was a part of our company. He cared as much for us as he did for USBP. We will miss the partnership, his knowledge and the comradery between him and our Engineer. We are truly sorry for your family’s loss. We miss him already.
I never met Jordan. I only heard his voice 10 times a day. Shannon, I’m sure you know, Jordan’s voice… very sexy. All the women in our office would act like they were fanning themselves off when we heard him on the telephone. We have very thin walls. Our Engineer and Jordon would talk about boring engineer stuff. But I loved the phone calls and of course Jordan’s voice. I loved hearing them swap engineer stories, roll off projects to each other, talk about the projects they were working on together and Jordan’s potty mouth (loved it). I really loved after a conference call they couldn’t wait to call each other like two teenage girls to download and summarize the call. They had a lot in common. Their love for their family, both wicked smart, boring engineer stuff, very hard workers and the Pittsburgh Steelers. I am so very sorry. He will truly, truly be missed.
I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I have only met Jordan a few times-such a sweetheart. My heart is breaking for you. Know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this sorrowful time. Just know he is sitting with our King in heaven . May he rest in peace. Sending prayers
To all of Jordan’s family, friends and coworkers: please accept my deepest sympathies. My time with Jordan was spent primarily on business but we always made time to share stories about our families. I knew from day one in meeting Jordan many years ago that he was a tried, true and honest man both in business and devoted to his family. My prayers are with you all. I shall light a candle in his name and cherish the memories I have.
It saddened me to hear of Jordan’s passing. I worked with Jordan at USBP on many a freight shipment over the years. If you could find a more genuine gentleman to work with I do not believe you would be successful. I always enjoyed talking football and shooting the shit with him, he always made time for you. God Bless you Jordan and your family, friends and colleagues. Rest easy my friend!
