Beverly Ann Gagnon
June 12, 1933 – February 12, 2024
Beverly Ann Gagnon, 90, of Solomons, Maryland, passed away at her residence on February 12, 2024. Ann was born in Bay City, Michigan to William Patrick and Pearl (Keating) Kavanaugh, the eldest of eight children. Ann spent her childhood amidst her boisterous siblings and many cousins, especially enjoying summers in Tawas, Michigan.
Ann graduated from Michigan State University and began an adventurous career with Capital Airlines in Detroit. Capital Airlines led Ann to her beloved husband, Thomas Esmond Gagnon. They were married on August 23, 1958, in Bay City, Michigan, surrounded by many friends and family.
The airlines provided exciting travel opportunities for Ann and Tom, including living in Milwaukee, Chicago, and Washington, D.C. Ann worked for Air France, which afforded she and Tom the unlikely perk of being early passengers on the supersonic jet, the Concorde.
Upon moving to Washington D.C., Ann and Tom enjoyed spending weekends on their sailboat in Solomons, Maryland. The pull of Spring Cove, Mill Creek, the Patuxent River, and Chesapeake Bay ultimately brought Ann and Tom to settle in Lusby, Maryland in 1971.
Ann and Tom always welcomed visitors – friends and family alike. Whether it was a family reunion sprawled out underneath tents in the early fall or a simple weekend of sailing on the bay, time spent with Ann and Tom was always filled with fun. The nieces and nephews can attest to the great joy that came from catching crabs off the dock, sailing with Uncle Tom & Aunt Annie, and chasing their much-loved golden retriever, Clancy, around their beautiful yard.
And then there were all of Ann and Tom’s friends – whether it was the friends they had from their many years at the Solomons Island Yacht Club or their friends from Our Lady Star of the Sea, Ann and Tom created meaningful and long-lasting friendships during their 60+ years of marriage.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Tom, and her siblings, Terrence, Joan, and Dennis. Ann is survived by her four siblings, William Patrick, John, Paul (Carol), and Rose Mary, and many nieces and nephews. Her presence will be deeply missed.
