Kelly Ann Russell
August 18, 1965 – February 3, 2024
Kelly Ann Russell, 58, of Huntingtown, MD passed away on February 3, 2024. She was born August 18, 1965, in Cheverly, Maryland. Kelly grew up with her sisters and parents in Lanham, Maryland, in a tight-knit community of loving grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins, and neighbors. She attended Parkdale High School and the University of Maryland where she studied early childhood education. During college, Kelly worked with her sister Penny at Greenwood Nursery School. After college, she worked at Washington Bible College which led her to join the corporate office of Founders Bookstore in Lincoln, Nebraska. Kelly found wonderful faith and friend communities during her time in Lincoln, eventually managing the University of Nebraska bookstore.
Eight years ago, Kelly returned to Maryland where she worked with various local childcare centers, most recently at Another Inspired Day Learning Center in Waldorf, Maryland. Kelly adored all the children in her care and has touched the lives of hundreds of children and their families during her time working and volunteering.
Kelly is survived by her parents, Allen and Rowena Russell of Huntingtown, Maryland, her sisters and brothers-in-law Cindy and Bill Voshell of Chesapeake Beach, Maryland, Patty and Brian Hogan of Huntingtown, Maryland, Penny Russell of Brentwood, Maryland, and her beloved niece and nephew, Claire Olivia Voshell and Raymond Allen Hogan.

Rowena & Allan & rest of the family,
So sorry to hear of your loss. This whole family of which I have know for many years. Are special people
May God wrap you in his arms. Remember the wonderful memories.
I will not be able to attend due to recent surgery but my thoughts & prayers are with all.
I am so sorry for your loss. Kelly and I worked in Young Life together, back in the mid 1980’s. She was always so full of joy and laughter. She loved others so very well. We ran into her again when she was living in Lincoln. What a wonderful surprise! As Kelly was famous for doing, she promised to watch over our son, as he began his time at U of Nebraska. She directed him to a solid church, and was always available if he needed something. She gave so much of herself. I am comforted knowing that she is with her Savior and at peace. May we all find comfort in that hope.
I’m sorry to hear of Kelly’s passing. She was very special to me and I will remember fondly the way she blessed me and my family. I love that there was nothing shallow or petty about her. She was deep and cared for people well. I’m sorry for your loss.

Sorry for your loss, this is shocking. Kelly provided daycare for my 1 yr old preemie twin granddaughters they enjoyed her. Kelly is very sweet and kind. The twins are missing her dearly. 🥲
