I was honored to spend time with him in my later years. He worked hard to coordinate Senior Trips that I was able to participate with my Aunt Emma and my Uncle Wilson. I used to stay it didn’t matter what we ate or where we went as long as I could spend time with them. He is the last of an Era and will be missed. Last one to speak Pennsylvania Dutch or the trials and tribulations of a small town in Pennsylvania. He will be missed. He was loved.

I met Bill when I joined the Chesapeake Ramblers. Before we started out on our trips he always said a prayer, which made me feel we were in Gods hands.
He was a very nice man and showed that he cared about everyone.
I am sorry for your lost.
May God comfort you during this difficult time.

My husband & I moved to SS 25 years ago and started going to Cedar Grove Methodist Church. We sat right behind him & he turned around & welcomed us to the church family. And we sat behind him until we moved. He was a wonderful man. He loved his wife dearly & he loved doing anything that he could serve others. He loved our Lord deeply. He was fun to be around. His smile was so contagious. He is with the Lord & his beloved wife now. RIP friend, you will be missed but never forgotten.

When I first started coming to Cedar Grove, Bill and Jean Kline were always friendly, always there. Jean and I found out that we had the same birthday (September 8), so every year we’d tell each other Happy Birthday!
Jean died, and I worried about Bill, since my parents had recently gone through the same sadness. But Bill put all his energy into God and the church. As everyone knows, he was always welcoming at the door, always helping with communion, always there.
One year after Jean died, our birthday fell on a Sunday that the church had Communion. Bill served me the bread, saying “Body of Christ” like always. Then he leaned toward me and whispered, “Happy birthday.”
Best Communion ever! I will always remember that with gratitude about Bill Kline.
I am sad to know that “Grandad” as I knew him, has passed, but thankful he will no longer suffer with health issues. He was my daughter, Kaitlin Laws’ great-grandfather, and was a wonderful man. Grandad used to visit Debra (his daughter) Jason (and I), Jeremy and was always kind and had a smile. We would look forward to visiting at Christmas, and we were always welcomed with love, and greeted with “can we get you something, honey” from Grandma. Grandad was loved, he was dedicated, and a man of faith. I pray that he was welcomed to Heaven to be with so many that went before him, as I know he missed tremendously. May his memory bring all who will miss him, peace and leave them with as much comfort as he gave in life. Sending my love.
I will miss Bill tremendously. I was very fortunate that the Lord put him in my life. He was not only a part of my Church family but most of all he was a wonderful and supportive friend. I enjoyed our times spent together especially in the kitchen at Church where we worked on Wednesday night dinners and so many other events. I know they had a joyous new year in heaven. Bill I’m sending you love and hugs.
I was Bill Kline’s pastor for 10 years (2013-2023) at Cedar Grove UMC. He helped me serve communion, we co-taught Sunday School, he attended my Tuesday Bible study, and he did so much for the church. If the church was doing something he was there and he was helping. Few are the number of people in churches today who always show up and are helpful. He had a great sense of humor. I will miss that I won’t get to hear his annual Lent joke, which was that he was giving up his New Year’s resolutions for Lent. Drank lots of his coffee and he never tired of the little joke that his favorite book of the Bible was ‘He-brews’. But beyond being brothers in Christ and co-workers in the faith, he was someone who I enjoyed spending time with and since when we had funerals or special services he would come early to help, we would wait together for everyone to arrive and pass the time in conversation after getting everything ready. The last two years, because he could not drive, I would pick him up and bring him to church, Bible study, and other functions. I can’t say I have a fondest memory of Bill, too many to choose from, but I always enjoyed the hour before Bible study on Tuesdays, we would sit out front on the benches, drink coffee, talk, and watch the goings on in ‘downtown’ Deale! I will miss him.
