Marjorie Ann Holesapple
November 5, 1934 – September 4, 2023
Marjorie Ann Holesapple (Marge), 88, passed into eternal life on Monday, September 4, 2023. Marge grew up in Riverdale, Maryland. She graduated from Bladensburg High School in 1952. She married her first love Alvin Leroy Pumphrey Jr in 1952. 1955 she and Alvin moved to Deale, Maryland after the birth of Rick. She would live in Deale until 1983. Marge spent her professional career working in the US Postal service for over 30 years. Gardening and camping were her favorite things to do. After the death of Alvin Jr. in 1979 she moved to Chesapeake Beach and married her second love Charles Richard Holesapple in 1988. Then she and Richie built a home in Owings. She loved working in the yard of her home and playing golf with her husband Richie. After the death of Richie, she continued to live out her life with her furry companion Elvis in the home that she and Richie built. Marge lived a life of unwavering dedication, love and passion for the things that mattered most to her. She loved to sew, making countless clothing pieces for her children, grandchildren and even an extremely intricate wedding dress for her daughter Linda. Marge’s devotion to her family and friends was central to her life. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life. She always made us laugh and will be greatly missed. Marge is predeceased by her parents John Herman and Katherine Browne Everding and her husband’s Alvin Leroy Pumphrey Jr. and Charles Richard Holesapple. She is survived by her children, Richard (Rick) Allan Pumphrey and wife Patricia (Trish), Linda Lee Barrett and husband Daniel (Skip), Alvin Leroy Pumphrey III and wife Jorja, sister Kathleen Browne Wilson and husband Craig, grandchildren Crystal Barrett Spring and partner Jimmy Young, Adam Wesley Pumphrey and wife Michelle, Steven Michael Pumphrey and wife Carly, Rachelle Ann Metz and husband Jaryd, and her six great grandchildren Aubrey Pumphrey, Sadie Pumphrey, Cole Pumphrey, Beau Pumphrey, Daniel Metz and Jocelyn Metz, and estranged husband John Clifford Goff.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 12th, 2023, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Rausch Funeral Home, (8325 Mt. Harmony Lane, Owings, MD 20736) and Wednesday, September 13th at 10:00 am followed by a Funeral Service by Pastor Dan Bennett at 11:00 am. Interment will be held at Fort Lincoln Cemetery (3401 Bladensburg Road, Brentwood, MD 20722) immediately following the Funeral Service.

My heart is broken that I didn’t get to say goodbye but I will always hold you near and dear in my heart my friend🥹💔❤️I’m so thankful to have had all the talks and coffees and time we had listening to music and all the stories you told me of your life❤️I will always cherish your memory and when I hear Rod Stewart I will smile and Remember the stories of you getting stopped for speeding to his song and the concert story you told me❤️🙏🏻until we meet again my dear sweet Marge (momma)
