Brenda Kay Hudson
April 3, 1959 – September 4, 2023
Brenda Kay Hudson, aka Baby Kakes and Aunt B, passed away September 4, 2023 in Washington, DC. She was born April 3, 1959 to Merle Hugh and Suzanne Catherine (Bradley) Robinson. Affectionately known as “Baby Kakes” to her family, Brenda endured many health struggles as a child, battling Lupus and the ongoing effects of the disease all her life. As a teenager in 1976 she received a kidney transplant which was the first live transplant at Georgetown University Hospital. Her case is still used for numerous studies and research to this day. Brenda grew up in Upper Marlboro and graduated from Frederick Douglass High School in 1977. She later attended the University of Maryland and graduated with a degree in dietary nutrition. Brenda moved to Owings in 1988 where she raised her son Bradley. She married Dana Hudson on September 19, 2009. Brenda worked in the payroll department for Prince George’s County Public Schools for many years, retiring in the early 2000’s. She was a devout Catholic and devoted member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Upper Marlboro. She was honored to have met Pope Francis during his visit to DC. Family was very important to her, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a devoted fan of the Washington Redskins, and loved watching the Baltimore Orioles with her husband Dana. She was also passionate about caring for and protecting the Earth, recycling, and doing anything to help the environment.
Brenda is survived by her husband Dana Hudson, son Bradley Robinson and his wife Jennifer of Shady Side, grandchildren Remington, Ripken, and Reagan, and siblings Michele Tucker and her husband Sidney of Upper Marlboro, Beverly Knee and her husband Ivan of Lothian, Renee Lester and her husband Brian of Lothian, Daniel Robinson of Lothian, and Mark Robinson of North Beach, as well as many nieces and nephews and their children. She was preceded in death by her parents, Merle and Sue.

It just breaks my heart that BB is gone. She suffered way too much. We had some good times together. As her older cousin I had the pleasure of babysitting both she and her siblings many times. They use to play tricks on me and try to scare me. I will sure miss you and to all her siblings son and grandchildren just remember she is now at peace. Love Cousinsuzy
Amazing how God is in all His glory, He has taken you from this earthly home to His home to live for eturnity pain free and perfectly healed. We should be celebrating your home coming with God, your mom and dad and so many others. The angles were singing as you walked through the entrence of heaven. I don’t believe I have ever known a family that was so loving and forgiving as the Robinson family. It has been my pleasure to have known you, you are an inspiration to us all. Rest in peace.
BE STILL and know that I am
GOD Psalm 46:10
this is one of my most favorite verses of many. Brenda was one of a kind.
She had so much love and beauty in her personality and I will miss her dearly.
My prayers and God continue comfort for all the families, friends and dear one’s in her life. That made her as special as you are and being part of a special unity through Christ our Lord. May God Bless you all .

My beautiful Aunt “B” will always be with us, she will be missed but her legacy will live on forever! She was a true fighter & lover throughout her whole life, and she is an inspiration to so many of us.
We will keep all her loved ones close and continue to be there in her place to keep her memory alive within our wonderful family! Our hearts are broken to lose her too soon, but we are relieved her great suffering is over.
It brings us peace to know she is now with her “heaven” family & she will be embraced with love and serenity until we join her one day.
RIP my sweet Auntie “B”, we love you so so much!
