I met Barbara at the hair dressers we both use to go to. She was having a manicure. When she was done she got up to leave and I looked on the table and her rings were still there. I caught up with her to give her the rings. We would get our hair done every Friday. We would talk and before you know it we were close friends. We started going out to lunch. She came to my house several times for lunch. Most of the times we went to Ledo’s in Lusby. We would take the back booth and we would sit there for 3 hours just taking and visiting. Our phone calls lasted pretty long also. How could one not become friends with Barbara. She was the kindest woman I know. When I saw her last Wednesday at the nursing home I said want me to bring you some chicken tenders from Ledo’s next time I come .She shook her head no. Little did the both of know there would be no next time. I think of all of the things I would have have told her. I did tell her I loved her and I did. I loved her like a sister. On that following Thursday I was shopping at Giant and got to talking to a very nice lady .We talked for over an half hour and we exchanged phone numbers. When I got home I told Bill I made a new friend. Not to long after I got home I got a phone call that Barbara had passed away. “God” and Barbara knew that I was going to need a new friend because I had lost my very best friend that day. I will miss her terribly every day. Love, Dot
When I was visiting with Barbara she talked fondly of Dot. She mentioned some genealogical challenges Dot was trying to solve and I think she hoped that I could help in some way. Hope to see Dot today or tomorrow.
Barbara’s cousin, Dennis
