Karen was such a dear sweet woman. She and I had many conversations daily at work and shared so many thoughts and laughter. I always appreciated being her friend and happy to have known her. She loved her family and spoke of them often. She will be missed by those that loved her big smile, including myself.
My first memory of my Cousin Karen was on a sunny morning on the back steps of her first family home in Deale, Maryland. She was sitting in the morning sunshine, smiling brightly & giggling at all of us who had come to visit – her beautiful red hair shining & highlighting her sweet little face. She was 4+ years old and over the many years that have passed, this has been how I think of her when she comes to mind … Rest well and I hope we meet and laugh and giggle once again together in the by and by…❤️🙏
I am now ready to acknowledge the effect Karen had on my life. We had fifteen wonderful years together and shared many memories. We created many family traditions especially during the holidays like making homemade peppermint ice cream every Christmas. Karen so loved the snow and Christmas ! One memory that I hold dear is when we walked arm in arm in the snow while admiring the townhouses in a complex in Crofton while dreaming of living there one day which unfortunately never came to fruition. But we loved all the apartments and houses we called home. We also shared our love for our family of pets. She was always very supportive of all my theatrical endeavors. She was sweet and quiet yet possessed an inner strength and was liked by everyone who knew her. She devoted much time to caring for her Aunt Nita towards the end of her Aunt’s life. My soul mate, confidant and best friend will be sorely missed, although she will remain in my heart forever 💔
I am so saddened to hear about Karen. We were back yard buddies before we were school age. Lots of fun memories from our very early years through high school. Lost contact but with the internet we were reconnected and could follow each other. I can only hope she was still laughing till the end. I’ll miss you my friend. Joe
