Juanita Louise Colwell

Juanita Louise (Bucco) Colwell, age 90, of Huntingtown, MD, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2023. She was born in Detroit, Michigan to Ouida and Clinton Francis Bucco. Juanita was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Calvin Colwell
Juanita Colwell is survived by; daughters Denice (Richard) Melito and, Paula (Paul) Robison, grandchildren Jacob, Kim (Thomas), Regina (Stephanie), Gabriel, great granddaughter Peyton Juanita, sister Betty (Craig) Weincek, and many extended family and friends.
Juanita was a medical assistant for many years. She previously worked as a secretary at Didee Diaper Services and started off as a bank teller where she met her husband. She was a Girl Scout leader for many years. She was a life member of the Chillum Adelphi Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, member of the Prince George’s County Fire and Rescue Association Ladies Auxiliary, Maryland State Firemen’s Association Ladies Auxiliary and Maryland Fire Chief’s Association Ladies Auxiliary. Juanita was a staunch volunteer over the years with her daughters’ and grandchildren’s many activities.
The family will greet friends on Friday, February 10, 2023 from 5 pm to 7 pm with services to follow at Rausch’s Funeral Home located at 8325 Mt. Harmony Lane, Owings, MD. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Juanita’s name to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or Children’s Hospital.

I have known your mom for many years back from when she worked for Dr. Sengstack, and got to know her socially with the Chillim Adelphi Fire Department events and gatherings. She was always fun to be around. So sorry for your loss, she will be missed by many who knew her.

Juanita will be missed by so many. I knew her through the hair salon. Sherri, Juanita and I always had such a great time together. She was a great story teller.
