Ronald K. Byzet

Ronald K. Byzet, 72, of Huntingtown passed away January 27, 2023 at his home surrounded by family. He was born May 28, 1950 at the Naval Academy Hospital in Annapolis to Ferdinand J. Jr. and Christine (Kyle) Byzet. He was raised primarily in Memphis, Tennessee and graduated from Memphis State University with a B.S. of Engineering Technology in 1972. He obtained a private pilot license and was also an amateur radio operator under the call sign WA4PRR. Ronald moved to Maryland in the late 1970’s and was employed by NASA Goddard, and received many awards for the work he did on the Hubble Telescope. He married Rebecca Diane Bell on June 27, 1981 and they lived in Bowie until moving to Huntingtown in 1987. In his spare time, he enjoyed amateur radio and most recently, building a life size R2-D2 replica with his sons.
Ronald was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca “Becky”. He is survived by sons Andrew “Andy” Byzet of Lusby and Alexander “Alex” Byzet of Huntingtown, grandchildren Braden and Julie Byzet and a brother Randy Byzet of Lexington, KY.
