Carole Jean Hutchins, 77, of Prince Frederick, Maryland passed away on December 23, 2022 at Calvert Health Medical Center in Prince Frederick, Maryland. She was born May 22, 1945 in Prince Frederick to the late James Norman and Mildred Monnett Bowen.
Carole Jean graduated from Calvert High School in 1963. In 1964, Carole Jean married the love of her life, John Kenneth Hutchins, Jr. They were married 55 years before his death in 2019. She worked at Montgomery Ward in Prince Frederick for about 10 years and then worked on the family farm until her health prevented her from helping any more. She was a lifetime member of Trinity United Methodist Church and severed on the Alter Guild along with her daughter Kendra. Carole Jean was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, and sister. She cared for her grandchildren and nephews until her illness in 2013. She loved her family and her farm.
Carole Jean is survived by her daughter, Kendra Hutchins Johnson and her husband Erik and her son James Kenneth Hutchins and his wife Jordan. Grandmother of Timothy and David Johnson, and Serenity, Clark, Nate, and Oliver Hutchins. Sister of Kathy Bowen and her husband Bob, she was also survived by her devoted caregivers, Carlene Jacks, Shirley Mackall, and Stephanie Coates.
The family will receive friends at Trinity United Methodist Church in Prince Frederick on Wednesday January 4, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM where funeral services will be held on Thursday January 5, 2023 at 11 AM. Interment will follow in Asbury Cemetery, Barstow, Maryland. Should friends desire memorial contributions may be made to Either Trinity UM Church or charity of your choice. Arrangements by Rausch Funeral Home, Port Republic, Maryland.

As kids I would visit her, Kathy and Aunt Mildred at their home on Dan Bowen Road. I have fond memories of Carol Jean and I playing and having a good time. I hold those memories close to my heart.
