December 1, 1953 – January 24, 2022
Kathleen “Kathie” Patricia Morrone, 68, of Chesapeake Beach passed on Monday January 24, 2022 at University of Maryland Baltimore Hospital.
Kathie was born December 1, 1953 in Washington, DC and raised in Oxon Hill, where she graduated from Oxon Hill High School.

Kathie married the late Pasquale “Pat” Morrone on December 31,1972 and moved to Chesapeake Beach in 1986, where she has lived up until her time of death. She worked as an executive administrative assistant for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Union for many years before going to work with the Communications Workers of America Union and ultimately retiring in 2013.
Kathie was preceded in death by her husband Pasquale Morrone, daughter Erin Legreco, brother Joseph LaPlaca, and parents Francis and Monica Brazell.

Maggie,
I just heard about Kathie. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. As you know, I knew Kathie independently of my connection through you. She was a great employee to CWA and we will be putting out information about her passing. Glen and I will not be able to come to the viewing. Our deepest condolences and please pass along our condolences to her sons and grandchildren.

I am so sorry to hear of this loss! I was very good friends with her & husband Pat when he lived in Hudson, NY. He and I would walk to the High School most everyday for school. When dad went in the Coast Guard we lost touch for awhile until I was asked by the Federal Government if I could give a reference for his long career. Kathy and I talked after Pat’s death in 2015. I was shocked to learn of her passing. May she 🙏 RIP. My condolences! God Bless!
To all of the Morrone Family: My family and I are so very sorry to hear of the passing of Kathy. Kathy and I met at CWA Legal Department and became friends. We talked almost everyday about our kids and grandkids and family in general . Our last contact was on New Years Eve. Kathy was such a loving and caring woman and I know she will be missed by many. R.I.P Kathy, you gained your wings.

Dear Family of Kathie Morrone: I was very privileged to work with Kathie at the CWA Legal Department where she served as an Administrative Secretary until her 2013 retirement. During her tenure at CWA, she was my extremely capable assistant and good friend and her presence in my life always felt like a special gift. We shared a love of music, a sense of humor and a progressive world view. It was my great honor to know her and work closely with her for many years. I know her family meant everything to her and I am sure you will miss her greatly. May her memory be a blessing to all.
To the Family of Kathie Morrone I offer my deepest condolences. I had the privilege of working with Kathie during my years in the CWA legal department. Her office was almost outside my door. She was always there for anyone in the department, lending a helping hand and insuring that the work of the union was moved forward. She took great pride, not only in her individual work, but in the cause we were representing. Her presence in the office was a great joy not only to me but, as some of the comments above reflect, to all of us who had the pleasure to work with her. I am truly sorry to hear of her death and your great lose. Peter Mitchell
To the Morrone family,
While we never worked in the same department at CWA, Kathie and I would spend our breaks together quite often. She could make me laugh more than most anyone, and we always had a wonderful, fun time. I am so very sorry for your loss. The world has lost a special light, and Kathie will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her and spent time with her.
So sad to hear the news of Kathie’s passing. I met Kathie many years ago as we both worked at CWA. She became a friend and I always looked forward to our lively conversations. She was a fun, interesting person. Never had to dance around any issues with Kathie. She was up front with her opinions and feelings – such a unique, welcome personality. My heart goes out to you – I know how much her family meant to her. So very sorry for your loss.
We were saddened to learn of Kathleen’s passing. She was such a sweet lady and always had beautiful flower beds…and I remember that wonderful potato salad that she would bring to neighborhood parties! Our sympathy goes out to the Morrone family…
