Cynthia “Cindy” Thames Blackistone
May 4, 1957 – June 29, 2021
Cynthia (Cindy) Thames Blackistone, a life-long resident of Fairhaven, Maryland, passed away on June 29, 2021, at the age of 64. Cindy will be greatly missed by her husband Mick, step-son Chris (Katie), and granddaughters Brittany (Austen), Taylor, and Hadley. She was much loved by her siblings and their families, Jeff Thames (Evelyn, Kadie, Colton, Carson), Pam Thames Michael (Amanda, Tara, William, Sophia), Paula Thames Sclichter (Karl, Michael, Katherine) and Michael Thames (Julie, Brian, Amy, David). She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Catherine Thames.
Cindy grew up in Fairhaven, swimming and boating on the bay, where she made life-long friends and became a go-to person for help and information in the community. She was instrumental in the establishment of the Annual Labor Day Volleyball Tournament, now in its 33rd year, bringing several generations of Fairhavenites together. Cindy and Mick lived in several homes in Fairhaven, her favorite being “ForEversFields” where family, friends, and friends of friends could enjoy the pool, no invitation needed. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Cindy was a lover of dogs and never had less than two in her life.
Cindy had a long and successful career in positions with both Prince Georges and Anne Arundel Counties. She retired as Executive Assistant to the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee Chairman in the Maryland House of Delegates. Following her retirement, she spent a decade as a successful real estate agent with EXIT By The Bay. Her strong work ethic, tireless effort, and desire to assure that dream home was attained was ever present.
A friend recently shared of Cindy that no woman ever gave so much to so many, asking nothing in return.
A visitation will be held on July 8th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.  A service will be held at Herrington On The Bay, Rosehaven, Maryland, on July 9th at 11:00 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life reception, 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Cindy was a great friend and wonderful collogue to work with. Her work ethic truly set the standard. The energy she displayed never turned off. I was truly Blessed to call Cindy my friend. It seems to me that she made time for everyone.
When Cindy stood before Our Lord, it is actually easy to know what He said” Well done my good and faithful servant…. welcome home”

All our prayers and thoughts to our life long familys and friend. Cindy was born so loving and beautiful inside and out. She is at Jesus feet with. My dad her mom and dad Frank Catherine, Emily and Cotton. In a far far better place. Really sad for us. She lived more in her short tome than most do in a life time. Patty Polly Paulina Andrea our whole family
God bless you all the Colemans…
Cindy was a wonderful friend who brightened the lives of everyone around her. She was so kind and compassionate to others and was a true servant of our Lord. I was blessed to have had the opportunity to work with Cindy and was honored to call her my friend. My prayers and sincere condolences go out to her family and friends.
To know Cindy was to love her. Her concern for the happiness of others was like no other. Her beautiful face and generosity will greatly be missed by her Fairhaven family. We are a lesser community without her, but she leaves beautiful memories behind.
Last year, Cindy helped me to get my first house. From day one, I admired her energy and generosity to connect me with resources as I became a new member of Anne Arundel community. As a great ambassador to this area, Cindy introduced me to orange crashes, the Amish market, and mapped the shortcuts to get to my home, which I appreciated so much being not only from out of MD but from another country.
My sincerest condolences to her family and friends. My loving thoughts are with you. Rest in Peace dearest Cindy.

Cindy was kind, compassionate and no one was a stranger to her!
The world is a lesser place because she is no longer here but heaven is a richer place!
My sympathy to the whole wonderful family.
