John L. Windsor

John Lesley Windsor, 52, of Chesapeake Beach passed away April 27, 2018 in Annapolis. He was born January 9, 1966 at P.G. Hospital in Cheverly to Benjamin F. and Jean C. (Curtin) Windsor. He was raised in Upper Marlboro and attended Frederick Sasscer and Largo High Schools. John was employed as a Pipefitter for Grinnell Corp. and later with the Smithsonian at the Washington Zoo. He married Nicole C. “Nikki” Wert on May 12, 1990, and they made their home in Chesapeake Beach. He enjoyed working, cooking and barbequing, hot rods, muscle cars, riding his Harley Davidson and animals. Most of all, John loved spending time with his friends and family and will always be remember as “the life of the party”. He is survived by his loving wife Nikki C. Windsor, twin daughters Ashley N. and Brittany M. Windsor, all of Chesapeake Beach, and grandchildren Brooklyn N. Freeland, Zaiden C. and Lydia Foley. Also surviving are his father Benjamin F. Windsor, brothers Ben, Dale and Paul Windsor, all of Bridgewater, VA, sister Janet Windsor of Lothian, and brothers-in-law Paul Wert and Jerel Wert, both of Rose Haven, and Jerod Wert of Chesapeake Beach. He was preceded in death by his mother Jean Windsor.
Following the Mass of Christian Burial and celebration of John’s life on Friday at 11:00 a.m., a reception for family and friends will be held at the Padua Hall at St. Anthony’s Church.
