Arthur Wade Tarte

Arthur “Wade” Tart, 62, of Oakland, Maryland was called to be with Our Heavenly father passing peacefully at Garrett County Memorial Hospital in Oakland, MD.; on March 4, 2013, after a short illness.
Wade was born September 13, 1950 in Prince Frederick, MD., son of the late Andrew Tarte, and Late Wanda Mae (Turner) Tarte. He is survived by an aunt, Pearl Merchant, cousin Warren Newcomb of Baltimore Md. and cousin Erick Wilderson of N.C.
Arthur “Wade” worked for Prince Frederick Times right out of high school, He later went to Hershey University, Penn. Upon graduation he came back to Prince Frederick and continued his carrier in the newspaper business. He was very involved with “On your Own” Agency in Prince Frederick, he was also on the Board of Directors at Center for Independent Living (LIFE). He also was employed by Southern Maryland ARC as a mentor. He was a proud member of Resources for Independence located in Cumberland, MD.
He moved for a short time to Delaware, then finally settling in Garrett County, Mt. Lake Park, MD. nine years ago. He is a member of Divine Hope Church, Oakland, MD. He just recently entered Dennett Manor as a resident where he was very mobile and active with social activities. He will be greatly missed by his ‘best friend’ “Prince”, buddy Dotson. Friends, who were as close as family include, Mike and Mary Ellen Nasif, Joe Nasif and Andrea Miller, Zelma Neary, Phebe Neary, Kevin Swick, Dorothy Swick, and John & Vicky Hinebaugh. Elizabeth Goldsborough and many friends he developed at the nursing home; all will miss him dearly. Memorial donations can be made to Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home, 1113 Mary Drive, MD. 21550. All services are private and conducted by Rausch Funeral Home, of Port Republic, MD. There will also be a Memorial Service celebrated at Divine Hope Church, Oakland, MD. at a later date to be announced.
