Page E. Bowen
September 8, 1937 – April 6, 2023
Page E. Bowen, 85, of Huntingtown, MD passed away April 6, 2023 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. Page was born September 8, 1937 in Prince Frederick, MD to Alma Virginia (Wilburn) and James V. Bowen. Page was raised and lived in the Huntingtown area his entire life. While working full time, he also obtained an AA degree in accounting.
Page married Carolyn Anita Boswell in May of 1964 in Deale, Maryland. Page was employed by Nationwide Insurance in Annapolis as an accounting manager and later as a claims service manager. He retired from Nationwide in 1995 at age 57 and was able to spend his time with family and friends.
While Page was successful at Nationwide, his real love was working on his farm and in his woodworking shop. He could be found on Saturday mornings singing or whistling while on a tractor. Page was a lifelong member of Emmanuel Methodist Church and managed the cemetery for over 20 years. Page was a member of the Prince Frederick Masonic Lodge #142 and served as a Past Master in 2004.
Page was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn Boswell Bowen who passed in 1986. Page is survived by his daughter Kelly Ann Kanarr of Frederick, his granddaughter Amanda Carolyn Kanarr of Baltimore, a brother James Vernon Bowen (late wife Lyndia) of Huntingtown, his sister Phyllis Arline Bowen of Huntingtown, and his former son-in-law Kenneth E. Kanarr of Owings, Mills, MD.

Condolences to Kelly and family as well as Vernon and Phyllis. Page always reminded me of Poppa Bowen. When he was staying at Grandmomma’s, you could hear him singing gospel songs while plowing the fields or working the crops. Blessings to you all. Carol Ann (Eyler), Michael and Becky Cartwright.
Page will be missed by all who knew him. He was one of the nicest people I’ll ever know. I enjoyed sharing stories with him on various occasions. He was always willing to sit down and tell some of his favorite stories and recollections of old Calvert County. Page was truly a wonderful man.
I will miss his always smiling face at Emmanuel UMC. Page was a true gentleman. My sisters and I (he knew us as the Golden Girls) loved talking with him. He was a wealth of information! Rest in Peace, my dear friend. We will truly miss you.
I am very sorry to hear of Mr Bowens passing. He was indeed one of the kindest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. He loved his family fiercely; it was evident in the way his eyes lit up when he spoke about them. He always had a friendly smile, even through difficult times he faced. I know he is amongst the angels in Heaven, as he was truly one on Earth.
